Real life. New friends. Memories you will cherish forever.

This is your first chance to live away from home, and we bet they'll be some of the best years of your life. Get your first real taste of independence while still having a support system (Residence Life staff) to go to when you need something. Our ResLife staff works hard to plan fun events that will give you opportunities to connect with your dorm mates, and they're there for you when you have a question about Cumberlands, need directions to a local place, or just want someone to talk to.

Student Housing Portal

A healthy dorm life leads to better accomplishments.

Our goal in Housing and Residence Life is to create an atmosphere of community that is conducive to healthy lifestyles and academic accomplishment. We strongly believe living on campus can help you make the most of your residence life and overall UC experience. Along these lines, our student handbook outlines the safety protocols and guidelines we have in place to help ensure a safe and healthy experience for everyone living on our campus. At Cumberlands, we are One Big Team in all aspects, including residence life. Welcome home, Patriots!

Absolutely. The main entrances to all residence halls remain locked 24/7. The only way to gain entry into a residence hall is to present your UC student ID to the ID scanners beside the front door to each hall. For residence halls with suites, residence or issued keys to lock both their suite and room doors. Just in case a resident does not have their key to access either their room or their building.
Campus security and residence life have their numbers shared with residents, so there's always someone to contact.
